DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera was named Tiger of the Year by the Detroit Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
Cabrera had a unanimous selection among the board for his performance this season. He was previously awarded Tiger of the Year in 2008.
Cabrera has already been named the MLB Player of the Year and 2012 Player of the Year and American League Outstanding Player by players in the Players Choice Awards.
The MLB Network also announced on Wednesday that Cabrera was one of the five finalists for the American League Most Valuable Player Award.
