DETROIT (WXYZ) - Retirement from the NFL didn't last too long for Devin Thomas.

Thomas, a former Michigan State wide receiver, is apparently un-retiring and has signed with the Detroit Lions, where he looks to make a splash during OTAs and training camp.

The Lions announced the move Thursday afternoon.

Thomas tweeted a photo of himself signing a reserve/futures contract with the Lions on Thursday.

The Ann Arbor native tweeted:

Greetings in the name of H.I.M. JAH RASTAFAR! God is Amazing! Bringing a young Lion back home! Its official

Thomas was a second-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2008 and also played for Carolina as well as the New York Giants, where he helped them win a ring in Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5, 2012.

Thomas retired from the Chicago Bears last year.
