Michigan will have to find a new point guard.
According to sources, Trey Burke is leaving the Wolverines to enter the NBA Draft after just one season in Ann Arbor.
The freshman led Michigan to a share of the Big Ten regular season title in 2011-12. Burke averaged 14.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in his only campaign with the Wolverines.
Speculation about Burke's departure for the NBA began soon after Michigan's loss to Ohio in the NCAA Round of 64 last month.
Michigan finished the season 24-10 and lost to Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.
In flashes of brilliance, Burke looked like the best player on the court sometimes. Other moments showed Burke's rough learning curve. In the conference tournament loss to the Buckeyes, he scored 5 points on 1-of-11 shooting, including 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Eso Akunna is the next point guard on Michigan's depth chart.
