The Detroit Tigers today unveiled the club's spring training broadcast schedule, highlighted by seven live television broadcasts and numerous live radio broadcasts as well.
The team issued the following release Wednesday afternoon:
Currently, six games are scheduled for live telecasts from Florida. Three games will be featured on FOX Sports Detroit as the Tigers host the Minnesota Twins and the Washington Nationals from their Spring Training home, Lakeland, as well as playing the Atlanta Braves at Disney World. Three telecasts will be featured nationally on ESPN as the Tigers host the New York Mets and the Braves in Lakeland and visit the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater.
A select schedule of spring games will air on 97.1 FM The Ticket, WXYT 1270 AM and Tigers Radio Network affiliates. Radio broadcast matchups include the Tigers against the Braves, Toronto Blue Jays, Phillies, Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees and Houston Astros.
Additional Tigers games to be televised on MLB Network will be announced at a future date.
Additionally, the April 4th exhibition game against the Toledo Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field will be broadcast on FOX Sports Detroit. FOX Sports Detroit’s regular-season coverage begins with the April 5 season opener at Comerica Park against the Boston Red Sox.
This spring will mark the Tigers 76th season at TigerTown in Lakeland, extending the longest-standing relationship between a major league team and a current Spring Training host city. The 2012 spring season marks the club’s 47th consecutive season of exhibition play at Joker Marchant Stadium.
