DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Tigers have clinched the American League Central Division title after beating the Royals Monday night 6-3.

Miguel Cabrera hit his 44th home run of the season as the Tigers exploded for five runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-0 win over Kansas City tonight.
With the home run, Cabrera has taken the lead in all three statistical categories as he continues to make a run for the American League triple crown.
Jhonny Peralta also homered for Detroit, who clinched the division title with two games left.
They will begin the playoffs Saturday at Comerica Park. Their opponent is yet to be determined, based on the other races in the American League.
