VALPARAISO, Indiana (WXYZ) - Ray McCallum, Jr. scored 22 points and four other Titans scored in double figures as the University of Detroit Mercy defeated Youngstown State 93-76 Friday night in the Horizon League tournament.
The Titans opened up a big lead in the first twenty minutes and led 50-32 at halftime. They kept the foot on the gas in the second half, powered by a balanced scoring attack.
Chase Simon scored 14 points, LaMarcus Lowe had 13 while Doug Anderson and Eli Holman both finished with 11. Holman posted a double-double, finishing with 10 rebounds as well.
The win was Detroit's 20th of the season. They will face Cleveland State Saturday at 6pm in the first of two semifinal games scheduled to be played at Valparaiso.
