ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - For the first time this year, Michigan has entered the BCS standings after defeating Michigan State on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines currently sit at No. 22 in the recent poll.

The Wolverines toppled the Spartans on Saturday afternoon 12-10, with Brendan Gibbons kicking the game-winning field goal with five seconds left. Michigan is now 5-2 on the season, including a perfect 3-0 record in the Big Ten.

Michigan now turns its attention to a primetime matchup with Nebraska on Saturday night.

The Spartans failed to appear in the BCS poll after falling to 4-4 on the year and 1-3 in Big Ten play.

Michigan State will now prepare for a rematch of the 2011 Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin. That game is scheduled for 3:30 on Saturday afternoon from Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis.

Wisconsin was the only other Big Ten team to appear in the BCS standings, coming in at No. 25.

Alabama andĀ Florida remained the top two teams in the nation after both won convincingly yesterday. Kansas State, Oregon, and Notre Dame round out the top 5.
