After losing to Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, the Michigan Wolverines fell to 8-4 on the season but remained in the Associated Press and coaches polls.
Michigan checked in at No. 21 in the AP poll and No. 24 in the coaches poll.
The Wolverines held Ohio State's high-powered offense to just six points in the second half of Saturday's contest but couldn't muster any offense and were held scoreless after halftime. With the 26-21 victory, Ohio State finished the season a perfect 12-0 but are unable to play in any postseason bowls, due to punishment from the NCAA.
Michigan will now wait and see who, and where, they will play in a bowl game.
Notre Dame received all 60 first place votes in the AP poll and 56 of a possible 59 first place votes in the coaches poll. Alabama and Georgia sit at No.'s 2 and 3 respectively in both polls and will play next Saturday in the SEC Championship game. It is believed the winner of that game will play Notre Dame for the BCS National Championship on January 7th in Miami.
Ohio State (No. 4) is the highest ranked Big Ten team in the AP poll. Nebraska (No.14 in AP & No.13 in coaches) and Northwestern (No. 22 in AP & No. 20 in coaches) also appear in the polls.
