ROCHESTER, Mich., (WXYZ) - The 2012 Fire and Ice Festival in Rochester will add back some winter activities that were canceled due to unseasonably mild weather.
The festival will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 24 and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday February 25.
Festival goes can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fire pits and marshmallow roasts, and creating snowmen and snow angels.
The festival will also feature ice sculptures with a Hollywood theme on Main Street, a fireworks show and plenty of great shopping and eats from Rochester stores and restaurants.
A fireworks show will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Those wishing to attend should father in the Farmer's Market parking lot at Third and Water streets.
In addition, the City of Rochester Fire Department will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the Rochester Area Youth Assistance 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday at the main fire station, 277 East Second Street.
If you need a quick warm up during the festivities, the Rochester Lions Club will provide coffee, hot cocoa, marshmallows and s'mores kits at Third and Main streets.
Dog sledding, ice skating and tubing will still be unavailable this year.
