7 Fun fall activities happening in metro Detroit this weekend

(WXYZ) - Here's a list of seven fun fall activities happening around metro Detroit this weekend. In no particular order...


1.) Michigan Brewers Guild 5th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival

WHEN: October 25 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and October 26 from 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

WHERE: Eastern Market, Detroit

WHAT: The Michigan Brewers Guild is hosting the 5th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival in Eastern Market, Detroit. Over 400 different Michigan-made beers will be available for sampling from more than 50 craft breweries located around the state. Local bands will perform throughout the festival, and participants can sample unique food available for purchase during the event. Attendants must be 21+. Saturday's festivities is sold out.


2.) The Mega 80's Halloween Spooktacular

WHEN: Oct 25, 2013 at 8:00 PM

WHERE: The Magic Bag, Ferndale

WHAT: Eighties style is back from the dead at The Mega 80's Halloween Spooktacular, a throwback Halloween-inspired night of dance-offs, fingerless gloves and Jheri curls.


3.) Whole Foods Market Treat Trail

WHEN: Sunday October 27 from 1-4 p.m.

WHERE: Whole Foods Market, Troy

WHAT: Whole Foods Market in Troy is hosting their annual Halloween Treat Trail. Kids are asked to dress in costumes as they look for designated treats throughout the store. The event is free for all.


4.) Detroit Fanfare Comic Con

WHEN: October 25-27

WHERE: Adoba Hotel, Dearborn

WHAT: The Detroit Fanfare Comic Con is all about comic books and those who love them. Hundreds of booths and special celebrity guests will be in attendance.


5.) Detroit Symphony Orchestra Halloween Mystery Performance

WHEN: Oct 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM

WHERE: Max M. Fisher Music Center, Detroit

WHAT: The Detroit Symphony Orchestra gets spooky in this kid-friendly mysterious performance that'll keep you on the edge of your seats. 


6.) Mi Sci Monster Mash Weekend

WHEN: October 27 from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.

WHERE: Michigan Science Center Dassault Systemes Planetarium, Detroit

WHAT: Create ghoulish concoctions that fizz, bang and ooze in Mi-Sci's Potions Lab, make fake cuts, blood and snot in the museum's Backwards Urgent Care and enjoy spooky crafts in Kids Town and the Nutrition Kitchen. They'll also have mummy wrap contests, a Monster Electric Show and the Fright Lights Planetarium show.


7.) Haunted Halloween Family Party

WHEN: October 26 from 4 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Arab American National Museum, Dearborn

WHAT: Children can trick-or-treat in the Museum galleries, make autumn-themed crafts, play games and sing karaoke. There will also be a costume contest and a chance to win prizes.
