DETROIT (WXYZ) - For the first time ever, the Detroit Yacht Club will host its first major outdoor concert tonight, July 11.
Tonight's concert will feature Rick Springfield and Dennis DeYoung. The normally private Detroit Yacht Club will open its grounds for its first big concert in its 145-year history.
The concert will be held on the water's edge and is the kick-off to the APBA Gold Cup Races which take place July 13 and 14.
Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased at http://dycconcerts.com/
"The Detroit Yacht Club is a historical and vibrant club, and this concert is intended to showcase that energy and vitality to prospective members," enthuses DYC Commodore Scott Allen. Ticket holders will be given the opportunity to apply for membership with some special incentives such as discounted initiation fees (details will be available at the concert).
"This concert will offer a special experience and a very close-up view of these amazing entertainers in a small and unique venue," Allen continues. "We will offer high-end service found only at the Detroit Yacht Club, and attendees will see what our Club has to offer. The stage backdrop will actually be our harbor and the city scape behind it."
