Farmington Players Theater expecting big turnout for "Legally Blonde Auditions"

Lots of parts for teen/college aged actors

"Legally Blonde" is a hit Broadway musical loaded with laughs and excitement. The Farmington Players will hold auditions Sunday January 20 . Registration begins at 1:30 pm with auditions getting started at 2pm. Callbacks are set for Monday January 21 at 7pm. 

There are plenty of roles available for teen/college aged actors as well as seasoned adults.

The show is based on the film (starring Reese Witherspoon) by the same name, with the book written by   Heather Hach. and music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin. 

     Director Jason Wilhoite says he's anxious to meet lots of talented actors. "I've been thinking about and working on this show for more than a year and I'm so looking forward to getting started with a cast of about 27 local actors and many more behind the scenes volunteers," says Wilhoite.

Auditions will take place Jan 20 at The Farmington Players Barn Theatre – 32332 West Twelve Mile Road Farmington Hills, MI 48334 

Required rehearsal dates (time TBD): Tech April 14 and 20, Dress Rehearsals April 22 – 24

Show Runs April 26-May 18

"Legally Blonde" is the story of  Elle Woods who takes on Harvard Law School to prove that she's "serious" enough for her preppy boyfriend Warner, but somewhere along the way to earning her MRS degree, Elle instead learns that it's a great feeling to be true to yourself.

Wilhoite has the following tips for people auditioning:

Come prepared with a 60 to 90 second monologue for the reading audition. You may select one of the cuts available on the Legally Blonde home page or any 60 to 90 second cut from any show you choose.

Everyone auditioning will be required to sing, read and dance. Please dress comfortably and come prepared for a fun afternoon.
