Friendship Circle walk in West Bloomfied helps kids with special needs

Caring people will be lacing up their shoes this weekend for the annual Friendship Circle Walk.  The event in West Bloomfield will raise money to help kids with special needs.  Click video player to see what the Executive Director of the "Friendship Circle" wants you to know about the event.
 
Organizers expect the walk  to draw thousands of people. It will happen Sunday, September 4th.

The goal is to raise more than $600,000. Registration begins at 10:30am with the opening ceremony starting at 11:30am.  The walk will start from the Jewish Community Center (Northwest Corner of Maple and Drake in West Bloomfield) and end at Friendship Circle's new Farber Center, located at 5586 Drake Rd, West Bloomfield.
 
Free entertainment  will start  at 12:00 pm.  Families will be able to enjoy delicious food, carnival rides, The Arts and Science of Chromatography, Arts and Scrpas, kids workshop with Home Depot, virtual reality headsets, fun rides and activities.   While the fun is free, organizers hope people will offer donations. 
 
One of the entertainers is  a performance speed painter who will create 3 portraits in a matter of minutes which will be auctioned off at the end of the walk, to benefit Friendship Circle. An Art Competition will also take place.  Local artists in  the  Detroit area, will participate in a clay and painting contest.  Artists will have one hour to create a piece of art that will be voted on by the walk participants.  Prizes will be awarded.
