DETROIT (WXYZ) - Hydroplanes are racing towards victory this weekend at the Gold Cup Races.
The event is held each year on the Detroit River down by Belle Isle.
It's a full weekend of fun featuring live local bands, a car show, and hydroplanes that cruise at 150-miles per hour.
General admission tickets for today and tomorrow range from 15-to-45-dollars.
The annual races will stay in the Motor City for years to come. Officials have signed a deal keeping the hydroplanes on the Detroit River for the next ten years.
