DETROIT (WXYZ) - St. John's Episcopal Church is once again holding their annual "Pray Here for the Tiger Service," and everyone around metro Detroit is invited to join.
This is the 14th annual service St. John's has held for the Tigers. This year, it comes the day before the season opener for the team.
During the short service of hymns and prayer, the church will "invoke God's blessing upon the Detroit Tigers for their upcoming season."
They will pray for the team, the team's health, and pray for some wins as well. The whole thing ends with the choir singing take me out to the ballgame.
The service starts at 11:30 a.m. at the church, located next to Comerica Park. There is free parking in the lot next to the church, and everyone is welcome to attend.
