St. Patrick's Day: Your guide to the Corktown parade and race

(WXYZ) - The 56th annual Detroit St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off once again in Corktown on Sunday, March 16 starting at noon.

The parade assembles at 11 a.m. on 6th Street and Michigan Avenue, and will get ready there until it starts promptly at noon.

This year's parade includes marching bands, pipe & drum bands, color guard units, floats, clowns, novelty groups and marching units.

It moves west on Michigan Avenue, passing the reviewing stand, and ends at 14th Street, about two hours later.

Also, the 32nd annual Corktown Races kick off the morning before the parade. The three mile race starts and ends on Michigan Avenue near Roosevelt Part by the Train Station.

The Kid's Quarter Mile race starts at 9:30 a.m., the New Dublan Dash Mile race starts at 9:40 a.m., and the Corktown Race starts at 10 a.m.
