Rapper Big Sean visits Bates Academy in Detroit Thursday morning to celebrate attendance

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit native rapper, Big Sean was at Bates Academy Thursday morning to celebrate children and their record attendance at the school.

"It's just cool to come back and just see the kids so excited and it all be for a good cause," said Big Sean.

Big Sean took a day off from the studio to be principal for a day at Bates Academy in Detroit, and to promote the 'Get Schooled' initiative.

"Get Schooled challenge is a partnership with Get Schooled, Viacom and Detroit Public Schools... and what it does is encourages attendance and students going to college," said Big Sean.
