Eminem apologizes to mom on Mother's Day with release of "Headlights" video, directed by Spike Lee

DETROIT (WXYZ) - This Mother's Day Eminem released a public apology to his mom through his latest video "Headlights," directed by Spike Lee.

The Detroit rapper teased fans anxiously awaiting the video with a tweet a little over a month ago, "Spike came to The D for the "Headlights" video... Coming soon." Included in the tweet was this photo of the pair.

"I really love the narrative for what we came up with together for 'Headlights.' It's a great great story. It's heartfelt. Some pain in it, but that's life," said Lee in this promo video posted to YouTube a few days before the official release.

"That's why we're here; back in the hood, 8 Mile in Detroit. Shooting where this all took place," he went on to say.

Finally Sunday, Eminem tweeted "Thank you @Spikelee for directing this video for me. Happy Mother's Day," with an accompanying link to the video below.
