Fluorescent lighting
Fluorescent lighting uses less energy, and so is less expensive to operate, than standard incandescent lighting. What's more, fluorescent bulbs last much longer.
Indoor fixtures
As most designers will tell you, light fixtures can make or break a room. But you needn't be a designer, to get the most from your indoor lighting. Here are a few tips.
Indoor/outdoor lighting
As the name suggests, indoor/outdoor lighting can be used both inside, or out, in an area such as a porch or gazebo. To withstand the elements, this type of lighting must be u-l listed for wet locations.
Landscape lighting
Just as lighting serves a practical and decorative function inside our home, it can also bring the outdoor landscape to life. Paths and steps can be lit for safety; large trees illuminated with uplights; or moonlight simulated with carefully-placed downlighting.
Security and sensor lighting
The job of security lighting is to illuminate any areas where an intruder might seek to gain entry, such as the front porch, low windows, shadowy corners, or side and back doors.
Signage
If you own a business, you probably need a way to light your signage at night. Even after you close, lighting is a good way to 'advertise,' making consumers aware of your location.
Track/recessed lighting
Track lighting is a versatile type of fixture, with several lights attached to a track. Each light can be slid along the track to a desired position, and adjusted to shine wherever you want.
