Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing — and corn-pudding flavored ice cream.

It may not sound be the most traditional dessert to add to a Thanksgiving feast, but a West Coast ice cream company is hoping people will try its holiday-inspired flavors this year.

Salt & Straw, a small chain with four locations throughout Portland and Los Angeles, is serving six seasonal batches that could replace pumpkin pie as your go-to Thanksgiving treat.

Its Portland stores are offering Hazelnut Rosemary Stuffing ice cream, an “intoxicating combination of rosemary, Willamette Valley hazelnuts, and rich molasses brown bread stuffing,” according to Salt & Straw’s website. The chain’s Los Angeles store is now scooping a Cranberry Walnut Stuffing flavor.

Other Thanksgiving-inspired flavors now on sale include Honey Bourbon Corn Pudding, Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey, Spiced Chevre Pumpkin Pie and Sweet Potato Casserole with Maple Pecans.

Turkey-flavored ice cream is a new concept but the idea of Thanksgiving-inspired flavors isn’t new. In 1992, Ben & Jerry’s sold a flavor called Miz Jelena’s Sweet Potato Pie — which was discontinued the following year.

If you are looking for a new recipe this Thanksgiving, Food Network offers instructions online to make your own pumpkin pie-flavored ice cream at home.
