GYN-Oncology Program

The St. John Providence Cancer Center of Excellence offers comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with gynecological (GYN) cancers. Our GYN cancer program, like all St. John Providence Health System cancer programs, is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospitals – an honor only 1 in 4 cancer programs at hospitals across the U.S. receive.

Achieving these accreditations, recognizes our rigorous attention to quality, comprehensive patient care and our commitment to provide each patient with full access to all of the various medical specialists involved in diagnosing and treating cancer, as well as the emotional support needed to fight this disease.

Our GYN cancer program offers a full array of treatment options as well as ongoing gynecological care which may include annual exams and screenings and family planning.

Our surgical management of ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulva and vaginal cancers includes:

- Fertility-preserving procedures for early stage cancer
- Pelvic reconstruction
- Risk-reducing surgery to prevent cancer

We also offer minimally invasive surgeries for procedures like hysterectomy's using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System which means less pain and faster recovery time for our patients.

As a further service to our patients, we also offer Cancer Care Coordinators, accessible weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 866-246-4673. Our Cancer Care Coordinators provide patients with resources for general inquiries, connection to nurse navigators, scheduling and coordination of diagnostic appointments, access to financial counselors, follow up appointment reminders, and more.
