STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Chrysler is celebrating the production of the new 2015 Chrysler 200 Friday afternoon at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, where the car will be made.
The Sterling Heights plant was originally slated to close in 2010, but was completely transformed after a $1 billion investment to build an all new paint shop, body shop, and retool the assembly line. It is now one of the largest and most technologically advanced Chrysler plants around.
Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne will join Macomb County government officials, UAW representatives and employees at the celebration.
