(WXYZ) - It' a nice change of pace, and a nice chunk of change for workers at General Motors.
Tuesday, employees found out they'll soon be receiving a profit sharing check. The bonus is rumored to be higher than the company's record payout of $1,775 dollars back in 1999.
"The bonus is good news, especially a big one," said Mike Kirby who works at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.
Some workers like Charles Lowe were concered they would never receive another bonus as long as the government was still involved with GM. "I figured the people would say don't give them anything, they don't deserve it," Lowe told Action News.
The exact amount of the profit sharing should be released by February 14th. Some say it could end up being as high as $3,000.
