14,000 pounds of hummus recalled over Listeria contamination concerns

(WXYZ) - Lansal, Inc. is recalling almost 15,000 pound of hummus and dip products because of concerns over Listeria contamination. 

Nationally, the recalled products were sold as Target Archer Farms Traditional Hummus - 10oz, Target Archer Farms Roaster Garlic with Roasted Garlic Tapenade - 17oz, Target Archer Farms Roasted Red Pepper with Roasted Red Pepper Topping -17 oz, and Target Archer Farms Traditional Hummus - 2 lbs.

The 2 pound package is not for sale to customers. It is used to make the Archer Farms Mediterranean Veggie Hummus Wrap and Archer Farms Hummus Veggie Snackers that are sold at SuperTarget stores.

All of these have use by dates between JUN/9/14 and JUN/12/2014. They also have the following UPC codes 85239233405, 85239233498, 85239233481 and 896863001823.

Also affected in our area are the Trader Joe's 5 Layered Dip Small - 11.5 oz and the Trader Joe's 5 Layered Dip Large - 24 oz, with sell by dates of APR/15/2014. They have UPC codes of 435451 and 274043.

Tryst Yellow Lentil Hummus with Sunflower Seeds & Apricots 10oz that were sold in the Midwest are also affected. They have use by dates/Lot Codes of Jun/10/14 E Time stampe and use by JUN/12/14 E Time stamp, as well as UPC code 896863001410.

Consumers who have purchased the hummus are urged not to eat it and to dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
