ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 19-year-old woman called police to complain that her mother was growing marijuana in their living room.
When Oakland County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home on Sunday they found a very large marijuana plant inside. The plant was nearly six feet tall.
The suspect, 40-year-old Tina Consolo, agreed to let deputies search the rest of her home. Officers say she did make statements about growing the marijuana. Consolo told Action News that she was growing the marijuana for medicinal purposes to relieve back pain.
Deputies searched the home and found dried marijuana hanging in the basement, a digital scale, packaging material, a marijuana grinder and marijuana pipes.
Two handguns and a shotgun were also seized.
The marijuana was sent for analysis. Consolo is expected to be arraigned by the end of the week.
