Hotel Standoff Ends: Gunman Surrenders

ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) - The police standoff at the Best Western hotel in Romulus has ended.

Police have arrested the gunman and taken him to the hospital.
 
The hotel was evacuated because of the situation. Witnesses tell Action News the gunman was in a room on the second floor.

The standoff stemmed from an overnight police chase, which shutdown westbound I-94 near Middlebelt for about a hour.  Another person was taken into custody before the standoff began.
