Man Faces Arson Charge in Fireman's Death

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police have a suspect in custody in the death of firefighter Walter Harris.

Darian Dove, 40, of Detroit was video-arraigned Friday in 36th District Court on the charge of arson.

Harris was fighting a fire in a vacant house in November when the roof caved in, killing him. Four other firefighters suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Police are continuing the hunt for other people who they believe played a role in the fatal arson fire.

Harris was the father of six, and a 17-year veteran of the department.
