(WXYZ) - Sarah Palin shocked the political establishment by saying she will resign as Alaska's Governor by the end of the month.
Palin made the announcement from her home in Wasilla, Alaska. She did not give a reason or say what her next step would be. The announcement is already stirring speculation that she will run for President in 2012.
By stepping aside, Palin will transfer power to the state's Lieutenant Governor, Sean Parnell. The transfer of power will take place July 26.
