Last Update: 11/06/2009 11:42 pm
PLYMOUTH, Mich. (WXYZ) - A driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance after a pumpkin came crashing through his windshield and hit him in the face.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday on M-14. The pumpkin thrower reportedly tossed it over the Ridge Road overpass.

The driver, Hank Kiel, says he thought a bomb exploded and then saw pumpkin guts all over his front seat.

He realized blood was gushing from his face and called 911.

Kiel says he had to have 18 stitches and has a broken cheek bone.

After an ambulance took Kiel to the hospital the pumpkin-thrower tossed another pumpkin from another overpass. Nobody was hurt in that incident.
