DETROIT (WXYZ) - Christine Beatty's supporters were in court for her sentencing hearing.

Beatty's family and friends packed the courtroom for the hearing. They included Beatty's pastor and his wife, who was overcome with emotion. Linda Griffin has been by Beatty's side during most of the last year during the text message scandal.
Beatty's pastor, Ronald Griffin, told reporters that justice has been served, and that Beatty will spend the rest of her life helping others. Her attorney, Mayer Morganroth, says there is some relief now that Beatty has begun her jail sentence, because after it is over she will be able to move on with her life.
