Teen Recovering After Being Hit by Train

Last Update: 11/06 6:03 am
DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 16-year-old is recovering after being hit by a train while walking to school this morning.

The Wyandotte Roosevelt student was listening to his iPod while crossing the tracks near the school and didn't hear the train, or its whistle. Four sets of tracks run right next to the high school, and police say students cut across them instead of walking over to Eureka Road and walking under them there.

The teen was able to walk to school to get help. He is currently being treated for a fractured skull at Trenton's Oakwood Southshore Medical Center.
