Rescue groups from all over the state are helping in a major animal rescue in Shiawassee county involving 120 cats.

It all started when complaints came in to the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office and investigators started looking into a possible hoarding situation.

When they arrived, they found the home was unfit for humans.

The cats have taken over the home, barn and garage.

According to police, the property belongs to Dr. Nancy Bischof who works at Banfield Pet Hospital, which is located inside a Petsmart on Telegraph Road in Southfield.

No charges have yet been filed against Bischof, but the investigation continues.
