(WXYZ) - It's prom season, and while many high schoolers look forward to the big dance, the cost of going can be daunting.
But, money shouldn't be the reason teens miss out on a big milestone.
That's why the 2014 Second Life Prom Dress Sale is helping girls get their prom dresses for just $20.
Organizers of the event say they collect all kinds of gowns and sell them for just $20, alterations and hemming is all free. They also have shoes, purses, jewelry and accessories.
The event will run this Saturday, March 29 at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church at 27475 Five Mile Road on the Corner of Inkster in Livonia. Tickets will be issued to visitors at 7 a.m. and then the doors will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the sale starts at 9 a.m.
Last year, organizers say they helped 585 girls get their prom dress.
Have dresses or extra accessories you'd like to donate? Drop them off at the church, or you can email Pam Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org. Organizers would be happy to pick up the donations.
