$2,500 reward offered for information leading to an arrest in Taylor murder case

(WXYZ) - A $2,500 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest in a Taylor murder.

Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect on Wednesday, but they are still trying to identify him and are asking for the public's help.

On Tuesday, around noon, police say a man shot and killed Chelsea Small inside Advance America Cash Advance and then stole some cash and took off.

They say he was in and out of the store in 70 seconds.

"To us, this is someone who perhaps has some experience with firearms and knew what he was doing," says Taylor Police Chief Mary Sclabassi.

"He goes to the counter, confronts the victim.. that's when she hits the panic alarm. He shoots her and proceeds to go about the store looking for cash," she says.

Investigators say the reward will increase because Advance America will be adding to it.

They, along with Chelsea's family, will make the announcement at a news conference on Friday morning at 10.

Action News will be there and bring you the latest information just as soon as it happens.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance video, please call Taylor police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
