6 Mile Chedda Grove gang members, Edwin Mills and Carlo Wilson were expected to appear in Detroit Federal court Wednesday after being arrested for allegedly being involved in a shooting.

Both men were charged with two counts of Murder in aid of Racketeering, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon in aid of Racketeering, and Using and Carrying a Firearm during a Crime of Violence Causing Death.

The shooting occurred in broad daylight on December 1, 2015 leading to the death of a 21-year-old male driver and a 13-year-old female passenger. Following the shooting, the men allegedly assaulted two other victims ages 13 and 7 with their guns, leaving both victims seriously injured.

6 Mile Chedda gang is a street gang that operates primarily on the east side of Detroit. The gang is known for using violence to retaliate against rivals, intimidate witnesses, and gang advancement.

Under the Detroit One initiative, the FBI's violent gang task force, and Detroit Police gang intelligence, law enforcement was able to identify the two gang members leading to an arrest.

United States Attorney Barbara L. McQuade, stated, "The utter disregard for human life, including the lives of children, is simply unacceptable, and the Detroit One partners are committed to doing all that we can to end this epidemic of violence against our children."

Until a final verdict is made the defendants will maintain innocence until proven guilty.
