DETROIT (WXYZ) - The red carpet rolled out on Friday night at Cobo for the North American International Auto Show's Charity Preview.
The Charity Preview is held every year on the night before the Auto Show opens to the public. It gives attendees a chance to see all the hot cars, without the typical auto show crowds. It also draws many of the business movers and shakers while raising money for local charities.
Because of our Charity Preview coverage, the series finale of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will air from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Tickets for the gala are $250 each .
This year the event is expected to bring in about $2.7 million for local charities. Since its debut in 1976, the Preview has raised $84 million for charity.
The 2012 Detroit North American International Auto Show is open to the public from January 14-22.
