Joshua Wade may have a concealed pistol permit, but a policy at the University of Michigan that bans firearms on campus makes bringing a gun, concealed or carried openly, on to university property a misdemeanor crime.

On Monday, a judge could decide if the Ann Arbor man's lawsuit to lift the ban can move forward.

Wade, and many other gun rights advocates, believe college campuses would be safer for students, staff and visitors, if those with permits to carry a concealed pistol were allowed to possess their firearms on university property.
