(WXYZ) - Michigan State Police say the 14-year-old who was found murdered in a wooded area of Armada died from asphyxia and blunt head trauma.
A source tells 7 Action News that the killer crushed April Millsap's windpipe before fleeing the scene.
The teen's body was found in a wooded area of Armada on July 24. Millsap's dog originally led joggers to her body who then alerted police.
Police say she was taking her dog for a walk and never returned home.
The teen's funeral was held this past Friday.
