ARMADA, Mich. (WXYZ) - Today marks two weeks since the body of April Millsap was found in the small village of Armada in Macomb County.
Police declined to say Thursday where the investigation stands, leading many to wonder when will the case be solved?
Sources close to the investigation tell 7 Action News: Evidence collected has been sent to the state crime lab for analysis. Until those results come back---there may not be much movement. or a suspect named.
April was likely killed when her windpipe was crushed by her attacker as he tried to flee the scene. Police confirm autopsy results that show she died from asphyxia and blunt force trauma to the head.
April’s body was found on the Macomb Orchard Trail not far from her home. Joggers found the 14-year-old’s body.
The community of Armada continues to be bathed in pink, as people around town wait for word.
Thursday night, many planned to gather to release lanterns in April’s memory to mark this two week anniversary.
