Auburn Hills Police searching for suspect who stole wallet from woman's purse

Auburn Hill, Mich. (WXYZ) - Auburn Hills Police are searching for the suspect who snatched a wallet out of a 66-year-old woman's purse outside the Meijer on Brown Road.

Police released photos of the suspect's getaway vehicle.

The victim, a woman from Clarkston, walked towards the entrance of the store when the suspect approached her, reached into her purse and stole her wallet.

The suspect then ran toward the getaway car.

A witness nearby, a 24-year-old Auburn Hill resident, chased the suspect and got the wallet back for the victim.

Witnesses describe the suspect as white or Arabic male with a darker complexion and dark hair; he is between the ages 30 and 40-years-old. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 170 to 180 pounds.  

The suspect was last seen wearing light-colored baggy clothing in what police think could be a green mid 2000's Buick Regal.

The Auburn Hills Police Department is looking for the suspect and asks for the public's help in identifying him and the car involved.  Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact the Auburn Hills Police Department at 248-370-9444.
