Mayor Bing, Governor Snyder, Detroit City Council to hold public hearing on Belle Isle future

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday to discuss the future of Belle Isle.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, Governor Rick Snyder and a majority of the Detroit City Council are reportedly on the verge of an agreement to have Belle Isle operated as a Michigan state park.

The deal could save Detroit as much as $8 million a year in operating costs.
