(WXYZ) - Life as you know it can change in an instant.
A young couple in Warren were out celebrating when a freak accident disrupted their lives forever.
It's something that could happen to just about anyone, but now the family can't even be reunited because of daily challenges.
Mike Miller had just turned 36 years old--and after marrying the love of his life and becoming a father years earlier, the family went to a jump house filled with trampolines to celebrate.
Then, the unthinkable happened. One minute, they were having fun, the next minute they were in an ambulance and on their way to the hospital.
Mike had fallen and was paralyzed from the neck down.
He has undergone weeks of intense physical therapy. Mike has been in and out of the hospital, but he's been unable to return home. The doorways are too tight for his wheel chair.
The family also lacks transportation to get him to and from appointments. Instead, they call area agencies which charge $120 both ways.
So, we are asking for your help. If you know of anyone who will donate a ramp to this young family so Mike can at least return home to his wife and young daughter-- or if you or a loved don't have need for a hospital bed anymore or you know of a company willing to donate one, please let us know.
Lastly, we need a contractor who might be willing to donate some time to widen doorways in the Miller's home, so at least he can get around at home in his wheelchair.
A fund has been set up. You can make a donation at any TCF bank under the benefit name of Michael, Mckea & Mia Miller.
