"We're asking these very excellent former members of congress, who have distinguished careers, to do what they did when they were in congress.. to get information," said Stephen Bassett, Executive Director of Paradigm Research Group.
"We hope that it will attract a great deal of attention worldwide, and we will see if congress perhaps react to it. We're also most interested in having the press get far more intense about this issue, particularly getting into what we call investigatory-mode to start asking the right questions of the right people," Bassett told 7 Action News.
Each of the six former lawmakers will be paid $20,000 for the 5-day event that will have them listening to testimony from approximately 40 witnesses at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Some of the information on the website for the Paradigm Research Group includes the following:
The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure will bring 40 researchers and government/agency witnesses to Washington, DC to testify before former members of the U. S. Congress on events and evidence supporting the truth of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race and a government policy to embargo that truth.
We're told materials have been sent to the former lawmakers to review in preparation for the hearing that runs from April 29 to May 3, 2013.
Organizers says the citizen hearing "will attempt to accomplish what the Congress has failed to do for forty-five years - seek out the facts surrounding the most important issue of this or any other time."
