Cities prepare for flooding around metro Detroit

(WXYZ) - Now that the weather has moved out of the deep freeze, city officials are now worrying about flooding risks.

Crews that were driving snow plows and salt trucks are now using hand shovels to try and clear sewer drains.

People who see plugged sewers should clear them.  Otherwise, they could face a lake in the street that could spill into their yards or worse, their basement.

Oakland County officials also warn drivers to beware of standing water in the street and consider an alternative route.  If it is deeper than expected, cars will stall.
