Clinton Township police hoping surveillance video leads to arrest in fatal hit-and-run

(WXYZ) - Clinton Township Police are working to figure out who caused a deadly hit-and-run accident that killed a young woman.

20-year-old Bobbi Layne Roberts was hit over the holiday weekend on Gratiot Avenue just south of Capital Drive.

In the video, which we have posted to the left, you can faintly see the car hit Roberts. You can then see a second car which appears to drive around her and keep going.

Eventually, someone did stop and offer Roberts assistance. She was taken to McLaren Macomb Hospital, but unfortunately it was too late. She died as a result of her injuries.

Police are now planning to meet with a professional video enhancement company to try and get more information about the vehicle that struck Roberts.

In the meantime, if you would like to help the family, donations are being accepted on behalf of the 20-year-old at United Memorial Funeral Home.

If you have any information about the incident, you are asked to call crime stoppers at 1-800 Speak-Up.
