(WXYZ) - Some community organizers in District 2 are questioning the leadership of their elected representative, George Cushingberry.
"We want George Cushingberry to be successful, but at the rate it's going right now, it's not looking that way," says community organizer Marcus Cummings.
They say Cushingberry has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons .. from his his personal finances to a traffic stop earlier this month. That's where a liquor bottle was found in the car along with marijuana which he says belonged to his passenger who has a medical marijuana card.
On Wednesday, 7 Action News investigator Heather Catallo told us about Cushingberry being sued over the way the attorney handled an estate case and missing classic cars.
On Saturday, community from District 2 are having a public meeting from 2 to 4 at the offices across the street from Greater Emmanuel church on Schaefer.
"The discussion will be one, what we're uneasy about and two, what we demand of our representation here," says Cummings.
"How's he gonna be a city leader when he can't lead his own personal life?", says Winfred Blackmon, a community organizer in District 2.
The meeting is open to the public and they hope Cushingberry will be there.
