(WXYZ) - Two firefighters are listed in stable condition at a local hospital after suffering injuries while battling a barn fire in Howell.
The images of a barn burning out of control only give us a quick glimpse of the adversity firefighters faced.
There were no animals in the barn on Oak Grove and investigators still aren't sure what sparked the flames, but firefighters still risked their lives to get it under control.
Officials tell 7 Action News that one of the firefighters fell off of a ladder onto another firefighter, resulting in injuries.
One of the firefighters was taken to the hospital by survival flight, the other was transported by ambulance.
"Just really appreciate all the efforts of all the fire crews, and just the job they did," said the barn owner, John Tucker.
Both firefighters who were hurt have non-life threatening injuries, we're told, and remain hospitalized at the University of Michigan Hospital.
