DETROIT (AP) - Dan Gilbert has added two new buildings to his large portfolio of properties in downtown Detroit.
Gilbert's Rock Ventures said Tuesday that it has bought a 1931, eight-story Albert Kahn-designed building at 1505 Woodward Ave. It also bought and an 1897, six-story building at 1265 Griswold St. and once known as the Bamlet Building.
Rock Ventures says the purchases add 84,000 square feet to its holdings. The company says it has acquired about 40 properties with 8 million square feet of commercial and parking space in Detroit's urban core.
Rock Ventures is an umbrella entity that also includes Quicken Loans, a leading residential mortgage lender.
