A 33-year-old woman was killed in an apartment building fire in Sterling Heights late Wednesday night.

The City of Sterling Heights Fire Department has identified the victim as Laura Ann Phillips.

The fire reportedly started around 11 p.m. at Sterling Knolls Apartments near 15 Mile and Dodge Park, right next to St. Blase Church.

Officials say another person was injured in the fire and taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

We're told two Sterling Heights firefighters were also treated for heat-related issues at the hospital.

The fire chief on the scene said the building was fully involved when his crew arrived. About 16 units were affected.

No word yet on what may have started the fire.
