(WXYZ) - The owner of a Detroit apartment building under fire for deplorable conditions faced our cameras on Thursday.
7 Action News first exposed the dangerous conditions inside the West Grand Blvd. apartment building earlier this week.
Residents were forced to deal with busted pipes, raw sewage and no heat. After our report aired, City of Detroit building inspectors found the place to be unfit and moved residents to a shelter.
While they were living in the dilapidated building, we found the owner Jane Yang living in an upscale Novi subdivision. We asked her if she felt guilty, and and she responded she didn't think the conditions were so bad.
Meanwhile, repairs are still being made. City officials have been stopping by the building to make sure residents are not being allowed to move back in until the needed repairs are made.
